Long ago in the times of yore, in the wilds of rustic
Germania, noble men sought a beast to ally them in
their adventurous hunts. They needed a creature of
nobility and heart... one of strength balanced by speed.
With careful and wise choices came the grand
 Deutsche Dogge.

Valiantly, this dog took down the great boar and stag
of the forests, So majestic and loyal, standing at their
Lord's side. Less and less taken to the hunts and more
and more kept as a stately companion. Bred to bring
out a gentle and loving nature, the Dane became a
symbol of wealth and power. Standing proud upon
their lord's lands, off atop a grassy knoll alert and
regal .. But more so at their master's side where ever
  they are.

To this day the Dane has kept it's regal bearing, but now is tempered by the heart of a Rascal. One will understand when you first glimpse the huge dog whimpering and whining as he struggles to get under the coffee table to get the tiniest of dust bunnies.. Or when he rolls upon his back to allow a wee little kitten to crawl over his proud chest. Or when as you sit in your chair eating dinner, a massive head is placed in your lap, not begging, but merely resting in hopes of a morsel dropped.
